History of the R12 BMW

In 1935, the famous German firm BMW started production of the military version of the R12 motorcycle in order to equip the police and the army combat units (for the reconnaissance and the communication).

The BMW R12 motorcycle could receive a sidecar giving light infantry fire support through the significant support of a machine gun (MG 34 or MG 42).

Fast, easy handling, the BMW R12 has proven to be a robust and reliable bike.
