Webster had just finished major at the University of Harvard when
he joined the airborne troops as a volunteer in 1942.
He trained with the
506th Regiment at Toccoa, but not in the Easy Company. He was parachuted
over Normandy on June 6, 1944 with the staff of the second battalion.
But during the fighting, David Webster was wounded and evacuated
to a hospital in England.
He is transfered in the
Easy during Operation Market Garden and was again wounded in October

de la E-Company dans la ville alsacienne de Haguenau. He missed
the Battle of the Bulge and he returns the E-Company in the Alsatian
town of Haguenau.

wrote his war memoirs published in his book: Parachute Infantry.
