Private David Webster in Eindhoven

David Webster had just finished major at the University of Harvard when he joined the airborne troops as a volunteer in 1942.

He trained with the 506th Regiment at Toccoa, but not in the Easy Company. He was parachuted over Normandy on June 6, 1944 with the staff of the second battalion. But during the fighting, David Webster was wounded and evacuated to a hospital in England.

He is transfered in the Easy during Operation Market Garden and was again wounded in October 1944. Il manque la Bataille des Ardennes et retrouve ses camarades de la E-Company dans la ville alsacienne de Haguenau. He missed the Battle of the Bulge and he returns the E-Company in the Alsatian town of Haguenau.

David Kenyon Webster wrote his war memoirs published in his book: Parachute Infantry.
