Gewehr K43 rifle history
The
K41 Gewehr semi-automatic rifle was introduced in the German Army
in 1941. It has to increase the rate of fire of German units which
are mainly equiped at that time with Mauser K98 rifles, with manual
bolt.
In 1943, German engineers decided to create a modernized version
of the semi-automatic rifle Gewehr K41, called K43, which is produced
at a fairly large number.
The K43 has a rail on the upper surface of the weapon, which allows
to install a telescopic sight, serving as a precision rifle for
snipers operating in the fighting units. The semi-automatic Gewehr
43 allows the German forces to have a good rate of fire weapon,
like the American US
M1 Carbine.
