D-Day 65th anniversary

Pictures of the Gourbesville ceremony

Several ceremonies took place in Gourbesville to commemorate the fighting around the village that took place on the night of June 5 to 6, 1944.  U.S. paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division were in the spotlight: an information panel recalling the events of June 1944 and also a monument representing a U.S. paratrooper were inaugurated. The veterans were warmly welcomed and honored during these commemorations in the presence of U.S. authorities, in particular general Miller.

Thank you to Patrick Brion for his photos.
