Opel-Blitz 36-6700A history

In the early 1930s, the German firm Opel AG produced a light and fast truck called Blitz, capable of transporting a large quantity of material (3,100 kg) despite its various low weight.

The German Army was seduced by the performance of the vehicle and it gave the first orders to Opel. Various versions were easily developed, and this truck fast became the first carrier in the German Army.

Starting from 1937, models with four-wheel drive were also produced and delivered to the German Army.

The Opel Blitz-36-6700A truck was used on most battlefields, where Germany has committed and showed great resistance to long distances and poor road conditions (heat, cold, campaign paths, etc).

Approximately 82,000 trucks were built between 1937 and 1944.
