On 5 June 2009, at 11:00 am, was
held in Picauville a ceremony in honor of the pilots and crews
of the U.S. Air Force. For the occasion, a model of a Douglas
C-47 was inaugurated in the presence of veterans and a detachment
of the U.S. Army (4th Cavalry). A C-130 Hercules, a worthy heir
to his predecessor flew over the site to end the ceremony.
