| Saving
Private Ryan, directed by Steven Spielberg, is a fictional story
which is partly inspired by the true story of the Sullivan brothers,
American soldiers killed in combat on the same U.S. Navy unit in
the Pacific.
The adaptation
of this story has allowed the famous American director to make a
film about a period that he likes: the Second World War, and particularly
the history of the battle of Normandy, in which many soldiers were
thrown risking their lives.
This film shows
in the first 20 minutes, the landing of American troops on Omaha
Beach. But unlike the film The Longest Day, Steven Spielberg's
movie shows realisticly to the audience a page of our history.
