Forum D-Day Overlord

Dear Friends, a couple of weeks ago my good friend Shifty Powers of Easy co. 506th was diagnosed with cancer. Needless to say I was very worried about him and many of you will be too now you know this bad news. When I talked to him on the phone 3 weeks ago he sounded very depressed about the whole thing for obvious reasons. But since I live 4000 miles away from him there's not a lot I can do but be supportive to him and his family... Now, I just got of the phone with him 5 minutes ago and he sounded a lot better which is good news. More good news is that the cancer he is diagnosed with is treatable according to the doctors but, he still has to go through a lot of tests and radiation. The cancer is not in his lungs as the doctors first thought but behind his lungs pressing against the spinal chord which is very painfull........ So, I was thinking, maybe you guys could help me to help lift Shifty's spirits a bit and let him know we are all thinking of him. I asked his daughter, Margo, permission to make his address available on this site so you could send him a get well card. She agreed and thought it was a great idea. I know that each and every person that has ever met him knows what a great guy Shifty is. So send Shifty a card and show your support for a great man who deserves our respect. He would love it.....
