RIP Reginald McClelland | 1925-2016

Reginald McClelland was born in 1925 in England. Orphaned at 12, he enlisted in the Royal Navy at 16 and served as a naval gunner aboard the Dido-class light cruiser HMS Bellona. After participating in numerous convoy escorts in the Baltic Sea, he took part in Operation Neptune off Omaha Beach. His guns provided fire support to the American beach landings. After the Battle of Normandy, HMS Bellona was engaged in further escort operations in the Baltic Sea.

After the war, Reginald worked for the British Ministry of Defense for 35 years in the Territorial Army.
