The WW2 Foundation is an American non-profit organization that organizes educational activities to commemorate the last world conflict. In 2018, it held the 2nd International World War II Film Festival. This event will take place at the Utah Beach Museum in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont and Carentan from Friday, June 1st to Monday, June 4th, 2018, to mark the 74th anniversary of the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy.

Several films and documentaries will be screened during this second edition of the International World War II Film Festival. They will be screened every evening on June 2, 3, and 4, 2018, at the Cotentin Cinema in Carentan, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.

As part of the 2018 International World War II Film Festival – Normandy, many activities are offered to the public, including an opening night on June 1 at the Utah Beach Museum (entrance ticket to be reserved, see official website link below), interviews with the actors, directors and producers of the films and documentaries in competition, interviews with veterans, and presentations of the latest video game technologies.

Utah Beach Museum – Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (50)
– 8:00 p.m.: Festival opening night with veterans and guests. Admission fee.

  • Saturday, June 2, 2018

Salle du Théâtre, rue des Halles – Carentan (50)
– 5:00 p.m.: Lecture on the filming of the second and third episodes of the series Band of Brothers by actors (in French and English).
Scottish actor David McCallum honors the festival with his presence by sharing his memories of the filming of “The Great Escape.”
Admission fee.

Visit to Normandy and VIP meal with the actors
This activity offers the opportunity to accompany actors from the series Band of Brothers to Normandy to visit historical sites, as well as a private meal.

  • Sunday, June 3, 2018

Utah Beach Museum – Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (50)
– 11:00 a.m.: Book signing session with the cast of Band of Brothers in the museum. Admission fee.

Normandy Tour and VIP Meal with the Cast
This activity offers the chance to accompany the cast of Band of Brothers to Normandy to visit historical sites, as well as a private meal.
Paid activity.

Salle du Théâtre, rue des Halles – Carentan (50)
– 7:00 p.m.: Festival awards ceremony with the participating directors.
– 9:00 p.m.: Concert by the bands Nashville Exile and Deadbeat Delta, including Nick Aaron, actor from Band of Brothers.

  • Monday, June 4, 2018

L’Atelier – 11, rue Jean Truffaut – Carentan (50)
– 5:00 p.m.: Book signing session with the cast of the series Band of Brothers. Admission fee.
