German strongpoints in Normandy: Wn 42
Atlantic wall
Wn 42 is generally known as Stp 42. Its defense role is reinforced by the presence of a surveillance radar station served by the Kriegsmarine, the German navy. Located on the plateau of Arromanches-les-Bains, the Stp 42 includes an octagonal base for radar, various constructions for artillery pieces and shelters for the personnel.
Composition of the Wn 42 / Stp 42 strongpoint:
- 1x Seeriese FuMO 214 radar
- 3x 2 cm Flak 28 Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns
- 1x 75 mm (FK 235 -b-) gun
