On June 3, the traditional ceremony in honor of the 101st Airborne Division was held in Carentan on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the landing of Normandy, in the presence of veterans and elected officials. It took place in the “Carré de Choux”, where the American paratroopers fought furious fighting on 11 June 1944 for the liberation of the commune.
