Commemorative 2018 airborne operation from Ramsbury
D-Day 2018 commemorations photos
At the initiative of the Round Canopy Parachute Team (RCPT), dozens of paratroopers from different countries participated in air drops from a Douglas C-47 aircraft on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Normandy landings. The originality of this airborne operation lies in its starting point: the members of the civil association, dressed in WW2 period dress, took off directly from England from the historic Ramsbury airfield to fly over the English Channel and to be parachuted over Normandy, just like allied soldiers on June 6, 1944.
