2019 D-Day commemorations photos – 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings

On June 5, 2019, as part of the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings, nearly 200 paratroopers were dropped in period dress from Douglas C-47 transport aircraft, some of which were veterans of Operation Neptune. This activity, organized by the company “Daks over Normandy“, was preceded by the flight over the Channel in actual historic formation. The airplanes took off from Duxford airfield in the United Kingdom a few hours earlier, before dropping off on the historic 6th Airborne Division drop zone, 75 years after the historic events, in front of many British veterans. this occasion. Never since the beginning of the D-Day commemorations have so many C-47s been assembled over Normandy as part of the ceremonies.
