The Big Red One Assault Museum in Colleville-sur-Mer highlights Pierre-Louis Gosselin’s personal collection. This World War II enthusiast, and especially the 1st American Infantry Division (nicknamed “Big Red One”, meaning “a great red one” in reference to the divisional shoulder badge of this unit) An impressive quantity of military objects that continues to grow rich every year.
These objects, of which many owners have been referenced, echo the American landing of June 6, 1944 on Omaha Beach, located a few hundred Meters from the Big Red One Assault Museum. The US division also participated in the Battle of Normandy after D-Day, you will also find information on these fights. Guided tours (duration: 30 minutes) are available on request.
