Nous sommes en plein débat, en effet comme tu le dis que le char assigné à Sowa le 222 requisitionné par Witmann soit.Cependant Daniel Taylor dit que
le panzer de Witmann aurait bien pu etre le 231 de Heinz Belbe a SUIVRE.

Wittmann est sur le char (le 221) avec le manteau long???????



Thats not Wittmann on this picture, thats Kurt Sowa and the towing Tiger is not 221 but 222:



and this 222 has no damages out of a fight in Villers Bocage, 222 looks brand-new!!

The Tiger reportes as the 222 in Villers was an error of an eye-wittness, thats a common conclusion in nower days.

And Wittmanns Tank in Villers 231??? I think not, why and how towing a Tiger with defect sprocket, see Wittmanns after action-report)



And look at the drivers place, he could have been killed, perhaps Eugen Schmidt, and in Wittmanns Tiger no one died.

not an impact that went through, drivers hatch is open and 5 men bailed out and went back after Wittmanns Report



here we can see a repair-trying of the same above Tiger in the main road of Villers after bombing the town,
chain layed out correctly and sprocket prepared to repair



and now the proof that the restored Tiger in Munster is not the 231 nor 212,....because there is an impact on the right side.



and I do not think that the restorers of this tank would give us the feeling that they restored Wittmanns Tank,
because this Tiger is a welded together scrap-piece out of three or more Tigers.

And I do not think, that it is 100% percent possible to repuzzle what Tiger or turret-number Wittmann drove in Villers

And the biggest question.....un troisieme char Tigre est en restauration de Mr. Hoebig,

is it Tiger 007?????

Cher Weyax, je pense que tu as très bien résumé la situation.

Il s'agit certainement d'un numéro d'immatriculation qui ne correspond pas à ce char, dans la mesure où il ne s'agit pas d'un seul "Panzer" mais de plusieurs : les pièces proviennent d'un dépôt et le mystère demeure volontairement à ce sujet pour ne pas dévoiler tous les éléments sur les éventuels "morceaux" de ces chars légendaires.
