Atlantic wall

In Bernières-sur-Mer, the Wn 28 strongpoint is an important defensive point in the area. This strongpoint, which is also the command post of the 5th Company (commanded by the Hauptmann Rudolf Gruter) of the 736th Infantry Regiment (716 Infantry Division), consists of a dozen shelters and ammunition dumps, tobruk and several casemates for artillery gun (including an anti-tank gun H604).

Composition of the Wn 28 strongpoint:

  • 1x 5 cm KWK gun
  • Several 8,14 cm Gr.W 34 mortars
  • Several machine guns
