RIP François Andriot | 1921-2016

François Andriot was born in Chaumont on July 14, 1921. He and his comrade Charles Husson decided to join Free France when they were called up for the STO in October 1942. Fleeing via Spain, they were imprisoned for many months in Franco’s jails before being released in May 1943 and returning to Great Britain to sign their commitment in June 1943. While Charles Husson left to join the paratroopers, François Andriot joined the commandos.

Assigned to K Gun with badge 184, he landed at Sword Beach in Normandy on June 6, 1944.

François Andriot lived in Great Britain.
