On June 6, 2016, the town of Grandcamp-Maisy commemorated the 72nd anniversary of the Normandy landing by flourishing the grave of Philippe Kieffer, leader of the French commando landed at Sword Beach on D-Day.
Sheaves were also laid before the statue of peace in the presence of American soldiers of the 82nd Airborne Division.
