2019 D-Day commemorations photos – 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings
On 7 June 2019 in Carentan-les-Marais, as part of the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landing, American paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division take part in a military ceremony presided over by their chief of staff, formerly deputy commander of the this division, General Mark A. Milley. This ceremony formalizes the contract renewal of 21 American soldiers, and is inspired in its form by the ceremonies organized by the Screaming Eagles in Carentan in June 1944.
