On Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the Cintheaux Military Cemetery (Calvados), a tribute was paid to Gérard Doré, the youngest Canadian soldier killed in 1944. He was 16 years old.
The commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the Caen South, Falaise, Trun, and Chambois sectors, on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the Cintheaux Canadian Military Cemetery, was marked by a tribute paid to the youngest Canadian soldier killed during the Battle of Normandy. Gérard Doré was 16 years old.
