Dedication Normandy monument
14-06-2008

Today we dedicated the new Easy Company monument at Brecourt Manor in Ste Marie du Mont, Normandy France in the presence of Herb Suerth, Ed Shames and Bill Maynard. Unfortunately Forrest Guth and Buck Taylor couldn?t make it at the last moment. The middle plaque shows the drawing of Burt Christianson, E-Co veteran. On the top of the middle plaque are 25 bronze stars which representing the 25 KIA?s of E-Company during Operation Overlord. The both side plaques carrying the names of the men who were KIA. We want to thank Jake Powers for providing us all the correct names, service numbers and dates. Next to the monument there is an information table on which an overview is given of the E-Company actions during Operation Overlord and more specific the part of E-Company in the Brecourt attack . Christopher J. Anderson wrote the text on the information table and was based on the recount Bill Guarnere wrote for this monument. A special thanks to Mr. Charles de Vallavieille, owner of Brecourt Manor, who gave permission to build this monument on his land and for being the director of the ceremony. With this monument we are one step closer to accomplish our goal: To honor our dead in all ways possible; ?Building of E-Company monuments on the historical battlefields where our brothers fell ? Pictures of the ceremony will be add to the gallery soon.

Sous chaque croix blanche du cimetière Américain de Colleville-sur-Mer ( Normandie) , dort un morceau de Liberté.
