Carwood Lipton was born in Huntington, West Virginia.
His father, a talented entrepreneur, died in a car accident when Carwood was 10 years old.
He volunteered in the airborne troops at Toccoa training grounds where he received his basic training and joined the Easy Company in the summer of 1942.
Carwood Lipton passed away in 2001.
