William “Bill” Doyle was born on October 31 in Baltimore City, USA. He enlisted in the Army on April 24, 1941, joining Company C of the 175th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division. He participated in the Normandy landings at Omaha Beach and at the end of World War II, still with the 29th Infantry Division. After the war, William worked with the Calvert Distilling Company. He died at the age of 101.
