Commemorations of the 63rd anniversary of the Normandy landings
Location: Cotentin Peninsula, Normandy
Date: 2nd June 2007
Events: On June 2, 2007, the Carentan Airborne Festival brought together several hundred participants who donned reenactment uniforms and equipment to commemorate the sacrifice of Allied soldiers during the Normandy landings. They took the same routes as their elders on D-Day, passing through Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Saint-Côme-du-Mont, and Carentan. A military camp was also recreated in Carentan.
