INDIVIDUAL CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT
1. On departure from home Station to Take-off Airdrome, troops will wear Uniform and Equipment as listed below:
Coveralls or fatiques
Combat suit M42 complete with division patch
Helmet complete with liner and net.
Boots, parachutist
Socks, wool, light
Tag, identification w/necklace
Underwear
Pay record book, Immunization Card (AGO Card for Officers)
M1938 or M1942 Leather Riding Glove
M1941 Knit Wool "Jeep Cap"
M1936 Pistol Belt with rigger pouches or M1923 10 pocket cartridge belt
M1936 Suspender
M1936 Musette Bag
M1910 Canteen, Cup and Carrier
M1942 First Aid Pouch with metal Carlisle bandage tin and contents
M1910 T-handle or M1943 Folding Entrenching Tool
M1918 Trench Knife or M3 Trench Knife
Weapons :
MI- 30-06 rifle: Rounds per weapon: 136, jumped on individual. (128 in Air Corps pockets, 4 clips per pocket), 1-8 rnd. clip in rifle, hand, or jumpsuit pocket (55% ball, 40% AP, 5% tracer. Rifle belt and one bandolier may be used in lieu of the above. 60 Riflemen per company will jump with 1 belt of LMG ammunition (250 rounds)
Carbine: Rounds per weapon: 175, jumped on individual. 160 in 2 Air Corps pockets (2 clips and one box per pocket), 15 in hand (1 clip) or jumpsuit pocket (100% ball).
Thompson SMG: Rounds per weapon:300, Jumped on individual. 14 (20 rnd) clips in jump suit pockets or M6 carrying bag, 1 clip in gun, hand, or jumpsuit pocket.
Pistol M1911A1: Rounds per weapon: 21, jumped on individual. 2 clips in pouch, one clip in pistol (100% ball, for pistol and TSMG).
Musette Bag:
Toilet articles
Towel
Raincoat
Mess Kit (will be collected before leaving airport and sent in by seaborne.
Socks, wool, light 2 pr.
Bag, sleeping (Suspended under musette bag, or carried by individual)
1 bottle halazone tablets, insecticide, heat units.
?K? Ration (1) (2 ?K? rations for seaborne element)
?D? Ration (2)
First Aid packet, (Parachutist)
Any additional specialist equipment
. Barracks bags to go by sea will be prepared at home station and marked with appropriate individual and unit serial number. Each will contain the following:
1 Blanket, wool, OD
1 Shelter half, complete
2 pr. Socks, wool, light
2 Handkerchiefs
1 Jacket, field
1 Pr. Boots, parachutist
1 Shirt, wool OD, complete with insignia
1 Trouser, wool, OD
1 Cap, garrison, OD
2 Pr. Underwear
2 Towels
Extra toilet articles as desired. :
